There is this handy-dandy feature in Windows called Alt codes. It lets you insert symbols that may not be on your keyboard layout simply by holding Alt and typing a number sequence on the numpad. And they are the same regardless of your layout! Do you use this feature? Are there any codes you have memorised?
Here are mine:

UK quotation marks (0145, 0146): ‘ ’
US quotation marks (0147, 0148): “ ”
HU quotation marks (0132, 0148): „ ”
Trademark symbol (0153): ™
Em dash (0151): —

I used to know a bunch (greek symbols are good to know when playing science boy) but then various IMEs only did unicode (or a half hearted attempt with crtl shift u) which has some subtly different ones and thus I am mainly a handful of French ones these days. I can still do the ASCII table in general but with any keyboard I am likely typing on it is no big deal.
Different quotation marks might be a good one to remember though.
