It's been recently discovered that your default location on the Wii Weather Channel affects in-game weather conditions. A user from the Official Nintendo Forums posted that his Weather Channel conditions carried over during football games in Madden '07.

    Check it out HERE

Animal Crossing better intergrate this feature! [IMG]

Love stuff like that. Remember being really impressed with... Goddamn is, I can't remember the name now, the prequel to Project Gotham on DC - MGR, MSR, something like that. Anyway, when depending on the time it'd be day in london and night in Shanghai or wherever.

That's really cool. I'm impressed that a game released before the Weather Channel went live could integrate this feature.

(oh, and just to be nit-picky, it's "effect" not "affect")

Is this confirmed? Some people are claiming it doesn't work:

With online access there really isn't an excuse not to mirror real world weather conditions in games, so long as you can turn them off if you don't want them.

@BlueStar - It was Metropolis Street Racer.

Real time weather is boring. Some people would never get snow, for example. Others would get too much rain.

Nintendo has always been great for this. Anyone remember that Star Wars game for Gamecube that had the day/night change with the time set on the cube?

As long as it's tied to your place of residence, yes. As long as it's tied to the real place where the football match or whatever takes place, no.

ok i was playing madden 07 last night. in the 'stadium select' you can choose weather eg. rain, sun, random or "SYS 28/01/2007"
now i imagine the SYS option was for the weather channel live weather right? well the game was just a normal sunny day in miami.
