If you read well no one is talking about server side hacking...

In theory you can unban if you can make the banned switch to be spoofed as another real legit unbanned Switch that you might have...

It just won't ever be that good as it's just better to use the unbanned switch 4 online.

However there might actually be a market like ppl selling their Switch certificate, like ppl that only want offline use or got their not banned switch broken beyond repair can inject the info on their banned switch or sell it...

In the future they might be able to spoof a clean new certificate in the CFW, however I hope they get banned fast after :)

On Xbox360 you could unban the console like that by injecting the clean info from another not banned X360.

There was also a XbLive emulator where you paid 4 online time on a hacked console and even if they banned your key before ur time running out, they would give you a new unbanned keyvault...

Ps: in my opinion I hope who got banned stay banned and if you really can't live without online then buy a console and stay legit, don't hack it...

The use of something like Emunand does not really make sense in this capacity. At BEST, you are playing a losing game of cat and mouse with Ninty, since using a foriegn console cert is going to also require hacked security engines, and all that-- which would be much easier for Ninty to test for programmatically.

The sane approach is to have the emunand use the banned cert, on a console that is unbanned, and use the real sysnand when you want to go online.

But that would not in any capacity be "Unbanning!" a console.

Well on the Xbox360 it was considered unbanned by the fact that just pressing power button on that banned console it was no longer banned even though the original keyvault of that console was still banned...

As far as I know if the banned console can get online and do everything then it's unbanned no matter what was done to achieve it even if the original info from that exact console is still banned...

It's not something that interest me anyway and like I said even if they can spoof the cert of a clean console I hope they get banned soon after because it's not funny ppl wanting to play games 4 free and even have online and a huge number of ppl then hacks the games and go ruin the online for ppl who pays 4 everything legit.

Honestly, I think Nintendo is going about bans the wrong way. I mean, it'd be unfair if someone got a used Switch and found out it was banned. What if a parent bought their kid a used Switch for Christmas and grandma got them a game that the kid wanted to play online? I can understand banning systems from online play like Microsoft does (or did with the Xbox 360) but not being able to update legit games? Not being able to update firmware? That's just a real dick move. Not to mention, the only way to get things done on the Switch once banned is the piracy method. So, they are encouraging pirates to just pirate even more!

Sadly that's all user fault, the buyers that do that are corrupts, but then again it's the same thing as everything like someone selling a phone saying slightly used mint conditions and no problems and then you buy and has bad speaker, bad screen...

If a seller isn't stating that the console is banned and someone buy it and is banned, just give full negative feedback and ask for a total refund...

Nintendo is a lot smarter nowadays. A thing like Switchminer won't be a thing.

We tend not to delete threads but if you want we can make a sticky with an overview on what unbanning would entail.

For the sake of keeping something at least as at the latest post.

    General overview
Every Switch has a unique key/certificate in it.
If Nintendo detects you have modified the system it revokes said key/certificate from their servers.
As you don't control Nintendo's servers and hacking those is a bit beyond the pale your main option then to unban your console is to have your Switch present the certificate of a valid console. Unlike the Wii it is not just a random number but an actual certificate made at the factory.
Where you get said certificates will vary -- some will sell them, you might buy a broken one and get it from there, you might have an offline only one for a kid that does not need its certificate...
There are some minor stumbling blocks to presenting this certificate with the Switch as well (to handle a lot of security stuff the Switch has a hidden security area, one we know and can manipulate, to say nothing of possibly emulate). Nothing that will be insurmountable but as people can't even be bothered to figure out how things are being banned right now there is no public option (or rumoured private one) for unbanning, never mind that doing it at present will still likely see a ban in fairly short order if you do go online as, again, nobody has bothered to figure out the detection methods Nintendo is using.
There is no ETA on such a method but you will doubtless find it all over the Switch hacking sites when it does drop.

A possible second option for some is if a third party multiplayer service gets made. The scene at large will make sure any game updates and firmware updates get shared and you will still then be able to play online games, probably without even paying.

No. You modify your system, you run the risk of getting banned. Buy another Switch, keep it stock, and move on.

Building our own matchplay service seems the most tractable long-term. See also, PvPGN (aka, BNETd, and the absolute purple cow Blizzard had (has) over it.)

Nintendo would likewise have an absolute purple cow over any emulation of their online service offering, and would have their nazgul at the ready. Be that as it may, it is still the best target, as we can reverse engineer what the clients are looking for, since we can realtime debug the console, can sniff the wire, and can disassemble the game binaries to find out all that information.

Much like blizzard was ultimately not really able to kill pvpgn, (despite trying to kill bnetd, its progenitor) nintendo will likely not be able to ultimately kill a replacement for their paid online service.

A hilarious solution to the "Who is gonna host this shit!?" problem could be distributed mesh hosting, in the form of a linux daemon that can run alongside nginx and pals to do the DNS spoofing needed to keep the switch from talking to ninty's servers. I use that hacked zsun I bought for injection dongle experiments. It has enough memory and such to work as a network node, a-la other distributed p2p systems. Lag would be an issue, but could become tractable with enough attention. The same functionality could theoretically be baked directly into the switch using a custom sysmodule.

How ignorant can you be lol you're implying that the CFW is at fault and not the users actions? Get the hell out of here lmao

'thats what you get' lol stop projecting, it's absolutely disgusting. I hope YOU get banned with your "non proprietary" CFW. I don't think you understand half the words you used in this post. You definitely don't know what proprietary means. My God.

This has nothing to do with op choice of CFW. Your EVERY post is just ragging on people who don't use what you want them to use, even when the topic is totally unrelated. It's time to stop.
