So... the only thing preventing us from registering a Sourceforge project is that we need a name for it. We need suggestions, and if necessary I can start a poll.
Here are some of the ones we have:

acekard (wow, that's original!)
acekard-ng
rpg-redux
deucekard
openkard
Royal Straight Flush

The last time they made an Acekard forum, it got about seven threads total. They eventually just renamed it to use it as the N-Card forum. I think that's why they aren't in a hurry to make another one.

Just keep posting Acekard stuff in this forum. If the majority of posts here are about the RPG, it will probably get it's own forum eventually.

But I think this AceKard is much better than the first one.
I mean, they gave it a silver award!

Keep in mind that the name should be fairly easy to abbreviate, and really long names or spaces are bad, long names more so.

I like arpiigii

I'll start a poll tomorrow, I think.

One thing that just occurred to me.... The sound on the 2600 sucked less back then the harsh sound we hear now is from infinitely better speakers we have now, back when the 2600 was new speakers produced a almost muffled sound, like CRTs made old graphics look slightly better.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I wonder if I could recommend that to some emulation devs that perhaps the sound could use some smoothing out to simulate those old TVs
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think a few of the early systems could benefit from that, at least up to the 8 bit generation, by the 16 bit generation I think TVs had gotten a lot better in almost every way
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:

  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
It's old but it's the best firmware out for DS stuff
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
it says it only works for the original R4, R4i Gold (r4ids.cn), R4iDSN (r4idsn.com) and Acekard R.P.G.
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
    nvm it does support mine
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:

Just give it a try, but honestly if you have a 3DS you can play DS games without a card just off the internal SD card
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
