I just bought a new WD my passport essentials 500GB hard drive that is USB 3.0, fully 2.0 compatible. I've read that many of the 3.0 drives are hit and miss. I've got it formatted as fat32 and the I'm able to open it up with all of the usb loaders and play games but the load times are very long, cut scenes are choppy and freeze, it gets worse the longer I play. I've turned off the sllep timer and removed the WD smartware. If I format the drive and reload the games, it will run perfect for about 5-10 minutes and then starts running slow again. Anybody have any ideas?

I believe the usb ports on the wii were locked to usb 1.5 mode unless it is hacked. Even than, depending on the loader it still acts as 1.5 not 2. Not sure if this was ever changed in newer loaders. Been along time since I hacked my wii or updated the hacks. Hell, my wii hasn't been power-ed on in like a year.
