Ok, so I thought I would finally get into USB loaders and put some games on a USB hard drive since I'm tired of burning discs all the time.... Well, I cannot get anything to work on my computer to get started with this!! I've been reading how to set up the hard drive, so I got the latest wii backup manager. Every time I run the program it locks up and says "not responding" and I cannot kill the process...in fact I cannot even reboot. I have to physically turn off my computer and restart. (windows 7 pro) At one point I actually got the program to see the drive, but it constantly locks up. So I tried WBFS manager so I could at least get the drive formatted...well, that program wont even load up. I run the EXE file and nothing happens. I don't get it. I have my drive plugged in the USB port on my computer. I have it formatted to Fat32 so I can format to WBFS but nothing will work right. Maybe the USB drive isn't compatable? It's a 120 gig western digital I had laying around, but the case is just a generic external case I picked up at the local computer store. Would that be a problem?? This is driving me nuts....I guess I'll stick with discs for now. If anyone has any suggestions please let me know.

Thanks.

ok...well I seem to have gotten the backup manager working, don't know how, but it works. I can't get it to format my partition to WBFS apparently, I thought it did, but when I ran the USB loader it said no usable partition was found, so I had the loader format it. Then went back and transferred the files, now the USB loader sees the games and they play great so far! Should have done this a long time ago, beats having discs all over the place!

You'll need to a be a bit more specific.

It's just a standard Windows app with some standard Windows controls, except for the custom progress bars. Literally, there should be no reason for it to lock up before you start using anything.

If there's a delay the first time you click on the drive menu, it's probably due to dodgy mapped network drives. These can cause a good few seconds delay the first time Windows tries to mount them. After that, it should be instant. If you do have mapped network drives, just wait a few seconds the first time. Mapped drives cause a delay usually when you've turned off the PC with the share, you can check that out in Windows explorer too by trying to access them. Let me know and I'll add an option to hide that type of drive.

About WBFS Manager.. Make sure your .NET is up to date. I'm not sure which version it needs, but a quick Google should tell you.

or did you have to find a used one with the lower firm ware that was not updated
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
I got this ps4 at launch and never updated since 9.0
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
You got a good chance of buying a used one and asking the seller how often they used or even ask for a Pic of fw and telling them not to update

Speaking of PLaystation. I see Evilnat put out a beta for PS3 CFW 4.91.2 on the 22nd.
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
Don't really see the point in updating it tbh
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Yea you right, I thought about updating my PS3 CFW to 4.91, but why really, everything plays fine now. I guess for people that have already updated past 4.9 it would be helpful.
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
Idk if online servers are still active that would be my only thought

Thats true, personally I don't play it online at all, in fact, I deleted all wifi details on it once I installed CFW, so it won't connect and auto-update itself
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
I play most games that are on both PS3/360 strickly on the 360, but PS3 exclusives are really only games I play on the PS3 (You know me, I'm more of a Xbox junkie)
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
Ps3 really has no titles worth going online over nps is the only reason you'd want wifi
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
    what is nps?
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
