Hacking watching movies (DVDs) on your wii

is this possible ? i did a quick google search and couldn't really find an answer. im assuming its not possible to just burn a movie and play it on your wii even with a modchip?

i heard it is infact possible, but it wears out the laser at a very fast rate, so no one does or wants to do it

Their are a few programs one is called WiiGCMediaDiscCreator but you need a mod chip and it runs in gamecube mode.Picture seemed realy good but had problems with size output would be more suited on a widescreen tv.

Becurse discs reflects some of the laser back into the laser.
And becurse of the Wii Laser being weak it cant take that much.

It wears down the lense the same way that your games do but why waer down a $300 wii when you can buy $40 dvd player.

Seriously... Using a Wii to play DVDs is just silly. Get a DVD. The Wii has no HDMI anyway.

Yeah DVD players are sooooo cheap now. You could probably pick one up at a box store for less than $30.

And seriously, do you not have another game system like an Xbox, 360 or PS2? These all have DVD playing built in anyway...
