Hardware Washed out colors on the New Nintendo 3DS?

I received my New Nintendo 3DS (not XL) today and I noticed that the screens are a bit washed out and colors look pale compared to my Old 3DS XL. Anyone else noticed this?

I don't have this problem. I have a japan new white 3ds and it looks sooo much better then my old 3ds. You might need to turn up the brightness up to 5

It's called panel lottery and there's nothing unusual about it. They are all grade B panels.

For example, just so you understand what I mean:

3DS XL: green
New 3DS: light green

3DS XL: red
New 3DS: light red

etc. Both systems have the same brightness level.

The N3DS is proven to have more washed out colors than the N3DSXL. Check out some side by side video reviews on youtube and you can see a clear difference in color quality.

btw exactly the same is the case with iPad Air and iPad Mini. The mini has a lower color gamut. I believe that is how it's called. Yeah it seems Nintendo used a worse screen on the N3DS.

I just received my Majora's Mask New 3DS XL and damnit colors also look slightly pale compared the original 3DS XL. Also there is a noticable yellow tint. The built quality is worse than the original 3DS XL. Why can't I have a perfect 3DS? I'm disappointed in Nintendo's quality standards

Yup, the N3DS does have a yellowish tint and more washed out colors compared to the standard 3DS. The only downside I found so far.

Seeing the regular N3DS and the N3DS XL, the N3DS definitely has a lower quality panel, however I've found that my N3DS XL looks like it has a much higher quality screen than my old XL. However as ndstuff said, it's just a panel lottery most likely.

What really weird is that the yellow tint goes away completely with the 3D on

Turn power saving mode on, it partially solves this problem.
