Hi,
I had my Wii for several years, and until recently it had a soldered mod-chip. This appears to have been a clone of the Argon chip.
Previously the Power lamp on the Wii would have three 'settings':
Red - Unit Off
Yellow/Orange - Standby
Green - On.
In the last couple of days I've had the soldered mod-chip removed and I've now replaced this with a Wasabi DX (non-solder). The Wasabi DX is running the 3.0 firmware (I updated it to be sure).
Now I noticed that generally the Power Lamp the 'settings' have changed to:
Off - Unit Off
Yellow/Orange - Standby
Green - On
I say generally as sometimes the unit will sometimes show a red lamp for off, although I seem to think this is only after using the Wasabi configuration menu.
None of this is having any affect on the use of the Wii itself. The Wasabi appears to be working. I'm just wondering if this is a known side-effect of the chip, and whether it's something I should be concerned about.
Thanks
Charlie.
