Hello, I don't believe this is widely known, because I learned it the hard way, but if you send your Nintendo 3DS into Nintendo for repairs, they WILL update your console. I sent my 3DS XL into Nintendo a month ago for physical damage, they fixed it but didn't reassemble it correctly. I got it back a month later and noticed they had not assembled the bottom part of the console correctly, so I sent it in to them. All they had to do was take apart the bottom part with the touchscreen and motherboard and reassemble it correctly. I got it back the other day for the second time and when I turned it on I was shocked to see that the firmware had been updated from 9.2 to 11.4. It was still on 9.2 when I got it back the first time, it was only updated in the second repair. This leads me to believe that they have introduced a tactic to stop CFW - by updating consoles that they receive for repair. Again, I'm not sure if this is widely known and I'm sorry if it is, but I wanted to warn you guys who use CFW. Take care.
