I guess cause its everywhere I go, people are asking me where to buy fake DVDs. *sighs*
Actually, just a year ago before Pacific Mall got raided by the RCMP, you could walk through there and it was pirated game and movie city. From head to toe, you had unlimited entertainment (at poor quality) at your feet and 20 dollars could get you 5 movies or 3 games.
As much as I love movies and games, I walk through there and its kind of disappointing how such methods have to be used so these guys can drive around in their BMWs after work. You ever actually meet some of these people in real life? They are living the high life making tons of profit in Canada. When the police shows up, they take their earnings and head back to Hong Kong and China.
See in Hong Kong, the police are VERY strict on pirating, that's why it occurs in Canada.
And China is picking up on those laws too.
Of course I don't want pirating laws to get tougher in Canada cause I play a couple DS ROMs myself, but what I don't want to see is selling the material so they can find an easy way to the high life. Downloading a game in self-interest is fine in my book, its that try before buy concept. HOWEVER, downloading a game to resell in your store really pisses me off.
With the release of the new fake DS Games...I wouldn't be surprised to see on eBay something like this:
"BRAND NEW RARE BLACK NINTENDO DS LITE!! WITH 5 FREE GAMES!"
"Nintendogs, Castlevania, Phoenix Wright, New Super Mario Bros, Brain Age!"
Starting Bid: $200US
Now do you understand why I feel like this?
Oh one more thing!
This might make you understand my point even more:
I don't think this needs any introduction. I bought this from the piraters when I first bought my Gameboy Advance SP. Not knowing the existance of Flash Carts, I thought this was something special that Hong Kong has exclusively for them.
It costs $75 dollars. It has 5 Super Mario ROMs that do not save and 100 NES ROMs running off PocketNES. What does that mean? Homebrew has been canibalized for profit and that I've been charged almost retail price for the GBA games! When you're a newbie its really harsh...
