ROM Hack Want to mod my N3ds XL need some info first.

Hello, I'm sorry if I'm posting this in the wrong place, I'm new to these forums.

I want to mod my N3ds XL for smash 4 texture mods but I'm worried about bricking it. So if I do mod my N3ds but I create a backup of the SD card first… Would it be possible to restore to the normal stable state of my 3ds by using said stable backup, even after the 3ds has been bricked?

My 3ds is running on the 11.x firmware.

Also if possible could you link me to a tutorial for preparing/modding a N3ds XL?

do you have a9lh?
if you dont, then you can't mod your n3ds unless you have another 3ds (old or new) that has a9lh
