NASA is retiring the whole Space Shuttle program, and replacing it with who knows what (you might; I haven't really been paying attention). They're repurposing what equipment they can repurpose, and the stuff they can't they're selling, including the shuttles themselves. Two are still available, Atlantis and Endeavour, going for 28 million dollars each.

If you don't have money for a whole shuttle, why not just get a shuttle engine; they're entirely free. Plus shipping and handling.

In unrelated news, for sale: one jumbo jet, lightly used, good as new, minor barely noticable water damage to upholstery.

Now where to get the money for it. In all honesty who wold actually buy a space shuttle and actually have a reason to store it at their house, except maybe Bill Gates.

How much is it for shipping?

    Hopefully less than $10,000.

Virgin was planning a spaceplane, and a spaceport. I dunno if it's still in development.

I saw a TV report about the space shuttle, it was kind of interesting, and they re-used the same shuttle for so long even after all the problems they had with it.
It's finally time to change it.

DIBS! ill take it. Whats the price? is it free? the price tag says 0$.

Anyways, why are they retiering the shuttle program? I dont know much about it but one would think that the shuttle program would be one thats cost effective. Not that filling a rocket with tons of fuel is a good use of resources, but its better than discarding them and building new stuff.

the shuttle has 30 years old, I think they will use new material for the next version.
since 1976 they used a re-usable shuttle, but with each atmospheric entrance the shuttle is loosing important shield parts and needed repair, either on earth or on outer space.

The next model is for 2015-2020 (damn, what will they use until then ?)
I guess they don't have only one shuttle.
Edit : there are 3 of them, so there will last only 2.

Yeah, they're still doing that. It's called Virgin Galactic. Tickets cost $200,000.

Not that hard especially since they are selling it to the free market, there should be instructions online or on paper that come with it. Anyway my uncle could assemble this for me, he's rebuilt jet and automobile engines.
