Hi all,

I have finally decided to install the Homebrew Channel on the vWii of my Wii U.

I have followed this tutorial here: http://gbatemp.net/threads/full-vwii-softmod.339899/

This what I have done.

1 - I have downloaded the "Lego Batman savegame exploit" (see 1º image) because it is the game I own. I have extracted and copied the "private" folder and all is content to the SD card.

2 - I have downloaded the "hackmii_installer" have extracted and copied just the "boot.elf" to the SD card root.

3 - I have played the game at least once. Power off the Wii U to start all over again.

4 - Power on the Wii U, go to vWii channel inserted the SD Card, then go to the vWii options and copy the exploit to vWii memory. So far so good.

5 - Launched the game, loaded the saved game and I'm on the Batcave. Follow all the direction and bang, the exploit is launched and I'm at the hackmii banner display.

But as impossible it seams after all this, I'm facing a problem with this install on my Wii U, it simply freezes at the hackmii banner display and never shows the "Press (1) to continue message" (see 2º image).

I have used different file sources, I have disconnected the Internet, I have used a different Remote, I have used several SD Cards (see 3º image) etc.

I'm out of ideas, it loads just fine the "boot.elf" and then simply freezes. My Wii U version is 4.0.2E

Any suggestions?

I'm not sure exactly how long it takes but I know that at least on a Wii (what I have experience with) it does take a reasonable amount of time before that "Press (1) to continue" message comes up. How long are you waiting for this?

not OP but it took around 20-30 seconds to show up on my vWii

I have waited around 5 to 10 minutes on each attempt.

The remote stay with the light fixed blue and the power button on the Wii U don't work. The only way to power off the Wii U is by puling the plug.

I'm going to give another try.

So another try, this time after enter on hackmii banner I have waited around 15 minutes according my computer watch.

I have decided to format the Wii U and start from the scratch. And waited around 15 minutes on the hackmii banner and guess what? Exactly the same it freezes and nothing

The eject button works, I'm able to remove the DVD but the power off butoon don't. I need to pull the plug to shut down the Wii U.

Whats wrong with this Wii U, I have seem so many people doing it without any problems. Any ideas?

Have you tried putting any other homebrew boot.elf files on there instead of the hackmii installer and seeing if they run properly? Particularly, a syscheck app could give us some detail about what's going wrong, I'd think.
https://syscheck-hd.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/SysCheckHDE/boot.dol
although, that uses a DOL file instead of an ELF file so you might need another homebrew app that can open DOL files like WiiXplorer to run in ELF format first.

Yeah, it takes way too long, but not 15mins long.

Maybe something is corrupt in the installer, have you tried redownloading it?

Thanks Masternal, for your reply. What this works? Do I place this boot.dol file on the root of the SD Card, delete the boot.elf and use the same process to launch the exploit?

tbgtbg, at moment the website http://bootmii.org/download/ is down, is there any other website where I can download?

Regards

Try putting the ELF file from this (WiiXplorer) http://www.mediafire.com/download/2cvlm6t2l3okz7t/R257.zip on there as sd:/boot.elf and it will let you find and run the boot.dol file anywhere on the SD card that you put it.

Redownloading the hackmii installer might work too, actually, now that you mention it ... just not sure where to find another copy.

EDIT : maybe you could get it from this http://please.hackmii.com/ (Letterbomb doesn't work with Wii U ... BUT you can check the box about having it bundle HackMii for you and it should be included in the ZIP file.

First, thanks all for the support.

This is what I have done:

I have tested the "boot.elf" file from hackmii website that I have previous downloaded. Used my hold wii "boot.elf" file, and the new "boot.elf" I have downloaded from http://bootmii.org/download/ .

On all tests I have first deleted the old "boot.elf" from the sd card and copied the new "boot.elf" to it.

I have done a small video with the result I get with the "boot.elf" from http://bootmii.org/download/ . The others "boot.elf file the result is exactly the same: http://www.4shared.com/video/lHjjlkbHba/WP_20140205_002.html

As per Maxternal reply I have downloaded the file http://www.mediafire.com/download/2cvlm6t2l3okz7t/R257.zip placed both "boot.dol" and "boot.elf" on the sd card and the result is this one: http://www.4shared.com/video/_rPc0MFRba/WP_20140205_001.html

Although the videos have only five minutes, I have left all tests run for approximately 20 minutes after entering exploit.

Today I have entered on the Batcave about 25 times, doing all the tricks I can remember, but nothing it freezes all the time.

Any other ideas?

Regards

PS
I'm wondering if this the only Wii U in the world that is 100% anti hacking.

Gambia, The
Again, are you using a Wiimote+?

I remember there were compatibility problems with the hackmii installer in the past.
