Hacking Want GBA flashcart for my DS Lite,very confused

So i want a gba flash cart for my ds lite.But im very confused as to which is the best one to get and where to get it.This is because when i google i find very outdated stuff from 2006 and older with links to websites that arent even up anymore.


Ive heard of options where you buy some ram expansion pack thing and then just emulate the gba games on an R4 card(which i have).Is this the best option?

Best option is to get a EZ flash 4.

I never had troubles with that card and it's a pretty decent REAL GBA flashcard that supports RTC iirc.

I think yes, it is. 3in1 expansion pack is the right way to play GBA games with DS/DSlite. But it depends heavily on a working battery and they often get shipped with dead or half dead batteries and replacing batteries can be big hassle. I don't know, perhaps there is a cart with a rechargable battery or a cart which stores save files in flash memory.

Compatibility wise it's great!.
Auto save backup.

Only downside is that you have to patch your GBA games first with the EZ client software.
There is no such thing as a drag and drop GBA flashcart.

EZFlash 3-in-1 (the "ram expansion pack" you're talking about) is very convenient because both DS and GBA roms can be kept on the same MicroSD and ran from the same flashcart. You don't emulate the GBA games, they're just temporarily copied onto the 3-in-1 then it reboots the DS in GBA mode.

However a dedicated GBA flashcart has the benefit of a real time clock (depending on which one you get). This is only really useful for Pokemon games though.

The best choice is probably the 3-in-1 unless you like Pokemon and really want the time-based events.
Otherwise the EZFlash IV is probably the best "dedicated" GBA cart.

Upon the next boot it will ask if you want to backup that save.

Well, that's basically what the 3in1 does with the right slot-1 carts. So there's really no GBA flashcart which stores save files without a battery on a flash memory, right?

It doesn't ask you if you want to backup, it just does it :| And you have the option of skipping by holding down the L button.

Thanks for the help guys im just a bit overwhelmed.
Supposdly the 3 in 1 is the best option.But it can be shiped faulty sometimes which is a big problem.
So to me,the EZ flash 4 seems to be the best option,because it seems easier just to have a stand alone cart,and the convience of a 3-1 only needing 1 sd card for both my r4 and gba games doesnt really matter to me,am i correct in thinking this?

NAND based GBA carts might but I allways seen them with batteries.

Haven't used my EZ in nearly 4 years.
I did knew of a popup that came when backing up the save to miniSD
But didn't remember what it said and if it asked for confirmation xd
