I read for a while and need help!

IOS36, IOS37, and IOS38 are official IOS files which are generally installed by Nintendo onto your Wii system.

Waninkoko originally modified IOS36 and installed it as IOS249. Later he modified IOS38 and installed as IOS249 or IOS250.

Hermes modified IOS37 and IOS38 and installed as IOS222 or IOS223

This way you can install a modified IOS37 as IOS223 and a modified IOS37 merged with IOS38 as IOS222

For the most part, the latter is all you will need. The other cIOS versions and install methods are for trying different methods of modification to allow for different attributes.

When I did the 4.2 Modify hack posted here I installed the following as instructed...

Installing cIOS & Patching the System Menu IOS
    Run WAD Manager 1.5
Press + on whatever cIOS's you want installed.

I recommend the following for disc loading:
    cIOS202[38+60]-v4.wad
    cIOS222[38+37]-v4.wad ----------------------Hermes
    cIOS223[38]-v4.wad ----------------------------Hermes
    cIOS249-v14.wad ----------------------------------------------Waninkoko
    cIOS250-v14.wad ----------------------------------------------Waninkoko
    IOS70-64-v6687[TB+ES_diV+NAND].wad

I recommend the following for USB loading:
    cIOS202[38+60]-v4.wad
    cIOS222[38+37]-v4.wad
    cIOS223[38]-v4.wad
    cIOS249-v15.wad or cIOS249-v16.wad
    cIOS250-v15.wad or cIOS250-v16.wad
    Install IOS70-64-v6687[TB+ES_diV+NAND].wad

Whatever you choose, press 1 to install the cIOS's.
    Press home to exit.

    Now...

Hermes' cIOS222 and 223 are alternatives to using Waninkoko's IOS249. There are some compatibility differences that may make you wish to try these instead of cIOS249.

The part that I am asking the question about is..

Basically I have both Waninkoko and Hermes cIOS's (Custom Internal Operating Systems) on my wii now?

How would I use one or the other?

Do I have to uninstall one of them?

Or do I, and how would I switch between them?

    Can someone clear this up?

in alot if not all usb loaders, you can choose which cios to use to launch a game, and since I personally use wiiflow, I have 2 channels installed: 1 wiiflow channel that runs off of cios222 and one channel that runs off of cios249

    i agree with Riicky.
For the win...keep both cIOS. To be honest, i'm defaulting 249 cause i'm playing on WBFS (using only 222/223 to certain games).

But if you plan to use Cfg Loader with FAT/NTSC partitions you'll be defaulting 222.

Depends on you...IMO both cIOS are good.

    That's it!

I just didn't want to mess anything up...with those defaults

Thanks for your quick, short, right to the point replies!

Now only if my life was that easy...xD

Cfg Loader with FAT/NTSC partitions sounds great to me, it can only get better!

You guys are my new GODS!
