I mean, people seem to be hurting each other over these cards. Which is pretty fucking sad.

To be fair, half the world has lost their damn minds over less important things. Have you looked outside lately?

The ironic thing is I just became a League Certified professor (judge and event organiser). And due to the card shortages I feel like I just opened a league during the great depression.

Worse, unlike Yugi Oh No or Money The Gathering there is no option to use videogames instead unless you fancy people using a Gameboy Color and be willing to replace game batteries.

so just like the toy industry trying to stop scalpers from buying all the action figures to sell online they stop stocking shelves of hot toy items and same with current gen consoles. have to buy online. yeah, big box stores get to dictate what they sell you "for your own good". Wait until AA batteries explode.

all over a bit of cardboard. Rediculous that they have to go this far to prevent crime.

You know something, it's pretty damn pathetic when people are literally stealing and fighting essentially to the death for the dumbest crap imaginable. Pokémon cards for crying out loud, what the hell is wrong with some people? This really says a lot about people, not really the smart and moral individuals but you know what I mean. Petty much?

So Glad I buy mine at the local comic book store. I want them to stay open. I despise big box stores

One time I found some kid who stole hundreds of Pokemon cards while he was doing so and I guess nobody noticed him the whole time. He ran away when I saw him, and nobody did anything about it. I then told the manager who said "I'll look into it." I asked him a week later when I returned and he said "still thinking about it"

This is why we can't have nice things.

For comparison, here in South East Asia, the only people who are brave enough to steal in public are those that have a very fast means of escape; everyone has a hard time making money, so the moment anyone hears thief, empathy kicks in and the majority of random people will block, stop and restrain the person for the authorities.

Some thieves have been known to not make it to the Hospital alive, so you are literally risking your life to thieve.
So no, not every place in the World is this idiotic that this type of measure on Trading Cards is the only resort.

Yeah but Corona makes shipping costs expensive and causes delay.

So buy your Japanese cards, if you are willing to wait for long.

I wonder if my tournament medal and jacket would be worth anything if sold alongside my 1st-edition collection...

Main thing I never understood was how people went about getting attention when selling these things. I have a story, and 'the goods', but where would anyone care? Makes you wonder.

This pleases me. The jury is still out on whether TCG players are actually human or not, there are good arguments on both sides of the argument.

Jokes aside, a supermarket has no obligation to carry a specific product. If it causes them grief on the shop floor, they can remove it without prior notice. I'm surprised they even bothered with an announcement.
