Hacking WAD Manager v1.3 by Waninkoko

1.3 kind of sucks, regardless of SDHC support. Instead of booting instantly, this version now asks you to press A twice and still fails if you have the wrong cIOS installed. I am still using 1.0 and it's great.

lol, i use to always use 1.0 but 1.3 is a little faster to me, and i dont mind guess pressing an extra buttons to hard for you

I just installed 1.3 and a couple WADs, everything seems to be working perfectly... I have 3.3 though. Is it working for me because I have the latest cIOS (the one bundled with Backup Launcher)?

Hello, I am new at this. I created a separate folder called "wad" on the root of my SD card and put the wad manager .dol file inside and I do not see it listed in the HBC. All I am trying to do is get DVDx to work. Thanks for your help

You don't put the .dol in there, you put your WADs in /wad. The WAD Manager boot.dol goes in /apps/WADManager or whatever you want to call it.

Ok so I got the wad manager to run via twilight princess hack. Now when I try to install a wad, it says installing wad please wait... then below that it says installing ticket... ERROR! (ret = -2011) the wad file opened ok. Thanks for all your help.

What firmware version is your Wii running?

I downloaded this file from the net 3in1SoftMod_REV3, How do I tell it is from my region?
The first file in the wad folder is named this 01-cIOS247-v5_fix-ppc_gba.wad

because the problems with error - 2011 are:

1) with an installed 3.3.1 Wii update, the
Wii won’t install any WAD files
anymore (signing bug disabled)
2) WAD region doesn’t fit the Wii’s

and the fixes are:

1) There is no workaround for this problem. You could
downgrade your Wii using some tools to enable the signing
bug again. Also WAD Manager IOS16 might work…
2) Only install WAD files from your region (E, U, or J). You
could probably try “freethewads”.

The whole reason I am doing this so my wii can play dvd's maybe there is an easier way than using DVDx. Thanks for all your help. I am also looking for the file IOS16-64-v257-prod.wad do you know where I can get it? I read somewhere that you can't install wad's with version 3.4 is that true? I finally got a wad app in the HBC but it won't let me open it it says it is not a valid wii application.

but you can use it to install ios16 and then run the wadmanager pointed to ios16, and then use that to install the wads you want

That's what I want to do, but what are the effects of the ios16?
And where can I download safe vc and wiiware games?

all normal ios files on 3.4 have been fixed. they can no longer be used to install the incorrectly signed pirated wads
but ios16 has been ripped directly from a nintendo service disc. so it has been signed correctly and it still contains the trucha bug. so if you install it, then you can use that to install the wads
