Hacking wad manager help

Tonight I switched my Wii on for the first time in ages and did a HBC upgrade.

All appears to work fine apart from my wad manager has gone.
I've reinstalled ios 222,223 and 249 then wad manager 1.7 but it still doesnt show in the list.
I have changed the wad manager file name to boot.dol and it's in it's own folder but still it is not showing in the program list?

Anyone got any ideas I have been on for hours.
Is there another way to install wads other than using a wad managed?
Please help!

If I am being unclear. All I really want to do is install some N64 wads.

I recommened YAWMM, but if you want to use Wad Manager 1.7, I have uploaded a Homebrew Channel package for you.
