I am running Version 4.2E and have the Homebrew Channel on a PAL Wii. I have tried WAD installer 2.1 and this does not work. It says that the file is not compatible with the Wii. Also I have installed mplayer and that was successful. Is there any way I can have a WAD Installer on my version of the Wii.

On a side question: Are there many other things that I can do with the Homebrew channel on my version of the Wii?

Holy shit!!! I would kill to be back where you are. Go to Wiibrew.org for oodles of homebrew apps. Try using WAD Manager 1.4 or 1.5 instead of WAD Installer

That part of my response was relative to the 'can i do anything else with the homebrew channel' question. I should've specified to search the Wii forums on here for WAD Manager 1.4/1.5. My bad

Thanks to both of you. So this will allow me to install WAD Files?

Also, what are the best emulators for it and what sort of roms do I need?

I tried installing a wad and it said there was an error when it came to the 'ticket' it said:

    ERROR -2011

What is the problem? Is there a way to fix it?

Use TruchaBugRestorer or DOP-IOS and try to patch trucha into IOS36.

Is this the only way that I will be able to properly install wads?

Also, is there any software that will allow me to play burnt wii games without a modchip?

I hope you are a troll...Otherwise, you should:

-Leave it. Hacking seems to be way over your head.
-Go back to School (WiiBrew/GBATemp-Search/HackMii), and read, search, read and understand. Then try again.

Honestly, I would leave it. You seem to be in a big danger of bricking your Wii, with so less knowledge.

One step at a time mate. If you want to install WADs, you need to get the Trucha Bug back into IOS36 as previously posted. Using DOP-IOS can grab IOS36 from Nintendos servers and restore Trucha. This should solve your -2011 error. Once we get this problem resolved, we can start to look at your other question. Not being arsey, but if you are new to all this we don't want to bombard you with information. You can play burnt games without a modchip, but lets get your WAD problem sorted first as you will need it to get games running!!

Hacking isn't over my head. I'm just new to hacking the wii. And I don't want to have to fork out another $300 because I am informed wrong or didn't do one thing right.

The fact is, i'm cautious because I don't earn enough to buy a second wii. I'm 16 for christ's sakes!

    Fair enough.

Is it necessary to have an internet connection?
