Hacking vWii: What is emuNAND used for?

So I'm at the point of choosing d2x 52 or 53alt, I assume emuNAND is used for VC stuff, right? I mostly only use emulators so I'm kinda leaning towards 53alt for the USB advantages instead. I remember Not64 writes to the MEM2 cache or something like that though, so if it gives better compatibility with that then I'd definitely rather use 52.

Just wondering what homebrew uses emuNAND if its worth choosing d2x52. thanks.

You mix then you know.
I have beta52 on slot 249 base 56 for emunand and all.
and beta53-alt on 250-57 , 251-58.

On rock band you can get all of the dlc songs free using emunand only but I wouldn't bother with emunand unless you're planning to play a lot of rock band dlc or are afraid of deleting an important IOS
