Apologies if this has been asked a million times before. However, since updating my Wii-U (European model) to the latest firmware, USB Loader GX can no longer see the Wii games installed on my USB HDD, although it CAN see the installed Gamecube games. I tried the suggestions in this thread:

https://gbatemp.net/threads/usb-loader-gx-wont-show-wii-games.473877/page-2

However, USB Loader GX can still not see my Wii games on the HDD. I tried all the different options in the Hard Drive Settings > Install Directories, but non work. My games are all installed like this on the HDD:

GC games: /games/game title [titleid]/game.iso
Wii games: /wbfs/game title [titleid].wbfs

I also tried this:

Wii games: /wbfs/game title [titleid]/titleid.wbfs

But still no joy, regardless of how Hard Drive Settings > Install Directories was set. Anyone have any ideas? All these games worked fine on vWii before I installed the latest Wii-U update.

Updating the WiiU has no relation to your problem. it didn't change the content of your vWii, nor tried to prevent you from using homebrew on it.

maybe you just need to re-enable wii games listing ?
main screen, top menu, 4th option, enable wii games.
be sure you plug the HDD to back-top USB Port.

both your filename and folders were good.
full compatible layout
preferred format is /wbfs/game title [titleid]/titleid.wbfs
this way, split files are in the same folders, and the loader only get the titleID and game list based on folders. It boots the loader faster (less files to process).

It's best to not add Wii games manually to your drive, or you'll get them in wrong place/wrong filename.
use WiiBackupManager to transfer the game.

Thank you. It turns out the "Wii Games" option had become deselected in the Select Loader Mode menu, as you suggested. I've never even opened that menu before, so not sure why that option became deselected.

if the USB is ever unplugged, or not found in the 20seconds timer at loader's launch, the Wii games are deselected to prevent the loader from trying to access a missing USB device. it used to crash if you tried to access usb if no usb was plugged. the loader should now verify if usb is ready or not. it works fine with gamecube games on usb and doesn't deselect them, so no reason to deselect wii games anymore either.
I know, it's a problem because lot of people don't know that 4th icon option exists. I always forget to remove that behavior on each new revision.

That's also a problem with many people not being curious enough to find all existing features and option a program has to offer by just trying element on screen and see what happens. or just even read options without trying them, to know it's an existing feature for future needs.
I guess it's fear of doing something wrong. but if something important is touched, it usually prompts for confirmation. reset settings -> are you sure? delete game -> are you sure?

@Cyan

Thank you.
Honestly... I tried everything. 4 differnt thumb drives, sd card, NTFS, FAT32, WBFS. Everything in all combinations. Different ISOs just to be sure. A lot of "solutions" online.

But enabling "Wii Game Listing". Like... first of all: Bad solutions for preventing hardware access, second of all: Thank you!
