This is Half Byte Loader running the Picodrive emulator on the Playstation Vita, as a follow up to the Hello World that was announced a few days ago.

Usually I would show the entire loading process, but given the secret nature of the exploit and some of the loading process for now, I'm just showing some gameplay.

Please don't get your hopes too high. As you can read on my blog, Sony put into place some security that will basically make this exploit moot as soon as it is made available, so this is just useful for research right now, and just a "ray of hope"...

People who have used HBL in the past will recognize the distorted sound from Sonic, this is due to incorrectly estimated syscalls (the PSP emulator on the Vita is based on PSP Firmware 6.60, which has some enforced securities with syscalls). We might, or might not, fix this before the release.

It is not running in Vita mode. Therefore, it hasn't been hacked yet.

You call this Huge News? That's like saying a new Barbie game is Huge News.

Sure, he can post what he wants, but all the naysayers are correct too.
Basically Sony is doing with vita what nintendo did with dsi and 3ds. Think of it like a computer with a partition on the hard drive. One partition runs an old OS like xp. The other one runs Windows 7.
Assuming the two can't access each other, there's no way that a hack running on the xp side will ever lead to hacking the 7 side.
(I know that was a stretch, but might help some ppl understand)
Add to the fact that the older mode (ds mode and psp mode) can't even access the better processors, etc. That's why no one is getting all that excited about it. Ds and psp have already been exploited, so these people aren't really doing anything new.
Honestly, I don't see 3ds or vita getting fully cracked. At least for a long time.

Actually it helps me a lot
It says that there is a way for a PC to maintain a connection via USB\bluetooth to the fileformat that the PSVita uses for it's memory cards and transfer PSP games and run it's PSP-emulator signed code, it's like saying that the overbuffing exploit on DS and Wii wasn't an exploit, it wasn't by itself anything special, but after learning how the RAM works through that we exploited both the DS and the Wii and not to mention found a DS decrption key (have no idea about the Wii yet) meaning we can sign DS games if we want with that key, likewise with PSv running PSP mode and PSP mode running malcious code, it helps us get the chip ID's of the hardware, it still checks out the same hardware it just acts differently, we can still learn a lot more about how the PSv works through PSP mode (YES, even if it runs like "PSP" it is still PSvita, just watching the PSP's encrypted RAM addresses change might give us hints of what kind of checksome it uses on-the fly, the more intel the better), exploits weren't made by a wall being removed from the security, they were always a tiny crack in the security wall

Psp mode is still a tiny bit different then running a psp. both sticks work and some hombrew has to be recoded for them to run at all on the vita in psp mode.

This person is an example of someone who heard something from someone else who heard it from someone else who misunderstood the original concept of what was said...

In other words, they are spouting crap that's well above their heads and getting the details completely wrong.

Moving on, for emulators and software in general, just look at what the PSP currently has. This is the limit of the current exploit... So while daedalus on the PSP is a thing, and it exists, it's sub-par for playing N64 games on PSP, and it will get the same performance on PS-Vita.
