Unless it means on-the-fly temporary patching, this isn't anything new. I haven't had any problems with GhebFE, as far as I know.

Is anyone else using the new version having trouble getting the game to use the classic controller? I know it worked with the last version, is there something stupid I'm missing?

Unplug and replug the classic controller and see if it responds.
