I've been looking at stuff on the 'net to understand how it all works... I install the modchip, then I connect the programmer and flash it? Is it just a basic set of information? I found Viper loader files but I'm also interested in homebrew, particularly N64 emulation.

If anyone could explain this, I'd be really grateful. I have a gazzillion different connectors (OK, three) and I know not what for.

Do you have an original Viper or the Extreme?

EDIT: Just in case you have an extreme

Plug in USB programmer to the viper aswell as the PC via USB
Make sure the DIP switches are set to the programming mode.
    Turn on your cube
Start the flashing program and load the BIOS you want to use.
Follow any instructions you get on either Gamecube or PC.
Restart Gamecube, making sure you reset the DIP switches as well.

Thanks, no it is an original Viper.

Do I do the same as above but with the parallel port?

Can I also ask about homebrew in general?
