A new bill was introduced into the U.S. House of Representatives that, if passed, will require warning labels on video games with ratings of "E" and above. The bill was entered into the congress by representatives Joe Baca and Frank Wolf. If passed, future games will have labels that read: "WARNING: Exposure to violent video games has been linked to aggressive behavior."

When speaking with The Hill, Baca said, "The video game industry has a responsibility to parents, families and to consumers - to inform them of the potentially damaging content that is often found in their products."

We all know the arguments and counter-arguments. Now, we just wait to see what "The People" decide.

"has been linked to aggressive behavior"
Yeah, sure, but only by idiots and young children who are unable to differentiate between a videogame and reality.

"WARNING: Exposure to violent video games has been linked to aggressive behavior."
Yes, violent people tend to enjoy violent video games, but the sentence in the warning is a very misleading way of phrasing that.

Not gonna go anywhere, this is like the third or fourth time it's been proposed and no conclusive evidence has been found stating that violent games will make you violent.

I don't see why this really matters. The only problem I see is if kids are trying to trick their parents into buying them a game and they see this other label.

This has nothing to do with us...
Are we really going to care if we get a big scary label saying WARNING on our game case? No.
It's just to make parents that buy their angry little children games to think twice.

Is this such a bad thing? It might stop idiotic parents buying GTA, COD etc for their 12 year olds.
Except you have to blatantly lie and manipulate the words in order to achieve that. Last I checked, no study could ever conclusively show that aggressive behavior and violent video games were linked.

Yeah, I don't think it can hurt. I think this only can help parents decide what's best for their kids.
Unless there really are a lot of parents that were stupid enough to buy those games and would stop because of the label.

I would agree with such a label if there is proof that the playing of violent video games would significantly increase the chance of acting violently and not the other way around I would agree with that however such proof does not exist so I find it quite stupid to warn for something that has not yet even been proven to be true.

You can't conclusively show them playing GTA since they were four is linked to their aggressive behavior. They could just as easily have been predisposed to an aggressive personality because of their genes.

If you were playing GTA at four, you probably had irresponsible parents. Regardless of if you think games relate to aggressive behavior, you're devastatingly irresponsible you leave your child to be subject to GTA.

@Bunjolio, I don't really think your sister should be doing those things at a young age. No offense, but its likely possible that she got manipulated online?

You should tell your parents about this to talk about your sister's safety. She definitely means a lot to your family.
