Final Fantasy 7 for Dummies - the weight of paper and the weight of steel are the same. In fact, there are instances where steel is actually lighter.

This begs the question, why aren't cannonballs and bullets made of paper? It appears that just about anyone can lift steel swords much larger then themselves.

EDIT: No, you know what? This actually applies to more then just Final Fantasy. 3/4 of animes, mangas and games made in Japan convey the exact same message. Our western metals are just much heavier then the Japanese ones - that's the only logical conclusion.
