Ooh, nifty! If I'm not mistaken, this version of Donkey Kong restored the Cement Factory stage, which was absent from the original NES edition of Donkey Kong. With this level intact, I'd say we have a pretty faithful home edition of the arcade classic on our hands!
This is quite a nice little bonus included in European 25th Anniversary Wiis. And to think, Americans only got Super Mario Bros. With the Question Block sprite edited to say '25'.
Wait what? We got a bonus?
Looks like I gotta dig out my wad region changer.
I'd like to see the ROM extracted from this, to see what exactly was added and how. It'd be interesting to see if it's just a patch loaded on the fly or if the actual game itself was different.
Where? I bought a red Wii and didn't get any such copy of SMB.
And if you happen to find the release, LaKiTu already extracted the rom for you, for your use in any nes emulator of your choice.
Nice, I already installed it on my Wii. And it works on a 4.1E
Wrong. We got no bonus, just a red Wii, red Wii Remote Plus, red Nunchuk, and NSMB.
Has the SMB "25" Edition been dumped yet?
I hope it will be soon. The banner for it is fucking win!

The 25th Anniversary SMB has not been dumped for AUS or for JP that I know of. (No scene group has released it, anyway. Check your gaming communities, though. If you find it, let me know!)
The .nes file included with the LaKiTu release was faithfully extracted from the .wad (I extracted the .nes myself and double-checked) and includes the level in the binary itself.
You can play the cement level in your emulator of choice.
This is sweet. I have always hated how the last level was excluded from the NES verson...
wonder why it took them so long.
