I got the save states to work long ago by changing the extension names. Then I could save in game and get a working .sav

I don't remember the exact format for retroarch savestates but if it's .srm then yes.

on retroarch the save format is .srm and on this vba the sav format is sav / +ram for savestate. I`ve changed it but not works "failed to read save state"

.srm is the normal save of retroarch right? Then that's not it. You can do save states with retroarch also with the quick menu.

The file ending with .nro goes in the switch folder. The roms go anywhere you want inside the sd card. Thry must be uncompressed .gba files. The emulator haves a file selector to look for your roms and a sexy GUI.

The GUI doesn't work well when docked outputting to 1080p. Also, I was wondering if it was possible to add rumble support for the games that have it (rumble support was a GameBoy Player feature that made the gc controller rumble)

It does not seem to work at all. I'm not using TX OS.

Completely wiped my microsd card and started with fresh files. Pressing A to load/save state still does absolutely nothing, with no error message. Really confused about this behavior and I can't seem to track down why the issue is occurring.

My microsd card files in case that helps:
    Code:
    sdcard:/atmosphere/titles/010000000000100D/exefs/main
    sdcard:/atmosphere/titles/010000000000100D/exefs/main.npdm

No issues here. While choosing the Write Savestate shows nothing, if I go back to the game, play a bit and then choose Load Savestate, then go back to the game it will have brought me back to my save state I previously had written.

Suggestion, maybe automatically go back to the game when using Write Savestate and Load Savestate?

Omg... I feel so dumb. I kept waiting on visual confirmation within the menu and never thought to just exit back out. Sorry to fill this thread with a non-issue.

Brings me to my next question though, are multiple save states supported yet?
