Valve, the famed developer behind the Half-Life, Portal, and Left 4 Dead franchises and the creators of the Steam digital distribution service, have finally confirmed that they are entering the computer hardware business. After months of speculation about a possible "Steam Box", it looks like there was some truth to that rumor after all. The Verge Now, while it looks like Valve's ambitions expand beyond simple prototyping, there's no saying what sort of product they have in mind. It could be anything from peripherals to a PC-like computer to a brand new console (and hey, get Half-Life 3 as a launch title and you'd have a guaranteed system seller). Really, the sky's the limit here. So, what do you think - Will Valve make a Gabe-sized splashed in the market, or is this nothing to get steamed up over?
