Teased simply as Half-Life: Alyx, it'll be a virtual reality game, and a flagship title for SteamVR and the Valve Index. We'll know more when Valve reveals more information this Thursday.

This is not Half-Life 3 and it's VR shit. Not exciting at all

But it's a prequel (Quarter-Life?) so it might be interesting anyway.

Rumor has it that it will be a traditional Half-Life style game, but with a VR interface, or at least their is record of them using Half-Life assets while testing new methods in FPS VR. Remember, they are always trying to find a way to merge FPS with VR in a practical manner that does not entail making it just another choose your own path rail shooter. So we'll see.

I wouldn't count this as them making games again per se. If anything, it being a VR-oriented game kind of turns yours truly off from it. Like, sure, maybe it's not a VR-exclusive game, but you'll be missing out if you don't buy the ridiculously expensive Index headset, you know?

I'll count it as them putting out new games when they make L4D3 and/or whatever else (they can do stuff other than FPS or just make something different from what they've done before, you know) that, outside of RE7, has kind of treated VR as more of a gimmick/tacked on mode just to check a box off of the list for the marketing department!
