Personally, I would give up on flashcarts for the 3DS if you plan on using the shop or being online. Buy a DS if you want to run a cart.

i have a 3ds and a dstwo, but even dstwo is not safe. i bought a ds fat for about 25$ just in case dstwo is blocked in newer 3ds firmwares. as the price of a used ds is as cheap as it gets now, why not have a backup?

Well...... The DSTWO is actually fairly safe, especially since it offloads the files needed for game checks (that killed other carts) onto the SD card in the DSTWO. Unless Ninty somehow pulls a different check that somehow can kill the DSTWO (which they probably would have if they could already, and since where dealing with DSi hardware modes, this possibility is extremely low), then the DSTWO is probably clear due to its not so stupidly designed and super cheap design compared to other flash carts that are pieces of crap (im looking at you clones and acecards).

Oh, I guess I'll keep looking

No need. No fix yet. SDHC is a clone, and production was stopped in May. The card is most likely unsupported. Gold is the real thing. I was right, they are two different cards.

(Not very familiar with the R4 scene, but this I do know, and I try to help when I can.)

http://www.r4i-sdhc.com/downloade.asp is your clone's site.

Oh, I wasn't aware that it was a clone, that sucks :(
I just updated my gold card just then, also why did I have to chop off a signal line on the R4i board? the DSTwo didn't have to do that!
Well now it's updated anyways

so that means that Mario will need to buy a new card then right?

As for the signal line cutting, I'm not sure.

If you still have questions about that, post in this thread http://gbatemp.net/threads/r4i-gold-3ds-firmware-update-to-support-6-0-0-x-coming-soon.349777/

They are discussing it there.

Yes, Mario123d will need to buy a new cart :(

Always buy from:
nds-card.com (trusted GBATemp sponsor)
zhuzhuchina.com (my favorite)
realhotstuff.hk (also excellent)

you are guaranteed legit cards from these websites!

If you don't know which cart to get, see this thread
