Update Usrcheat.dat Thru Wi-Fi!

Developer Giovanni has created an application for the DS, allowing you to update your usrcheat.dat through Wi-Fi!
You'll be able to see the latest cheat updates from GBAtemp (updated by Narin) and download them!

Added simple GUI
Now you can see, on the lower screen, the latest changes of usrcheat.dat by Narin
Added progression bar for download and decompression

A current problem with this is that the cheat files aren't retrieved from the GBATemp site but instead get downloaded from another site. Because of this, the cheat files may not always be up to date (As is the case now, its showing the 12th update and not the 14th for me) and you have to wait on for the cheat files to be updated manually.

Awesome, now i dont have to plug the microSD card into the computer, if i only want to update the cheatfile :3 (not often i need though, and not often i use cheats.. but anyway..)

Sounds like a nice app. Need one for cheat.dat though.
Oh, and you could make the cheatfile autoupdate on the server by using a simple bash script as a cron job, or even a scheduled batch file would work, if you downloaded some wget/ftp equivalents.
The best would be if the app unzipped the zip off gbatemp itself though, it can be done, just needs some code. Maybe DScompress is open source?
The easiest way would probably be to just host a non zipped version on gbatemp

Also, does this app replace the file while it downloads? Would be best if it was saved with a temp filename until it's downloaded (and file size verified), so the old file is still there if the new one fails halfway through, or something.

edit3: The screenshot says "uncompressing", so it likely uses zip, why can't it update off the GBAtemp cheat db, then? Are they RAR? I would check, but I'm on my Wii, too much of a hassle.

Even if it could get the unzip the file off of gbatemp, the file name changes everyday so it wouldn't work atm. As for me and my cyclo, its gonna have to be ds organize and dscompress.

It only supports gzipped files at the moment and not zipped files. Also thanks for the kind words, I really appreciate it.

Yea, how its currently set up, all the updates this program uses are a day behind my updates so what your doing is upgrading to an day old version of the cheat database. Also this relies on how often the creator updates the cheats on his site, so if hes suddenly caught up with life, work, ect, the updates might stop entirely. Thats basicly my own grief with the whole program but it is a great program though and I have been contacting the author of it and helping him out with it.

Also currently theres no backup feature I believe but I don't think it removes the original cheat dat until its actually ready to replace it with a new one. At any rate, I'll pass along all the feedback here.

I just download the lastest cheat from this homebrew, this not your usecheat NArin, JUst 2.59 MB and a lot of games are mising, i have just 4 games reconized.

So a question, where this cheat database come from ?
