Gaming Using homebrew on slim 5.00m33-6

Hey, just got my pandora (broke the official battery it came with), and finally installed my CFW. Everything is great and all, but I'm kinda confused on how to use homebrew applications. I read somewhere its about downgrading the kernel to 1.50 or something.

Ignore that...what homebrew do you actually want to use? Most of the time it's as simple as dropping the folder into PSP/GAME/

I tried using gpsp, and a couple other apps (cfw extender, file viewer) but they either didn't show up or one showed up as corrupted file
