My N64 recently quit working and I downloaded all my roms and an emulator. I wish to use my NDS Lite as a gamepad since I fell it could work well. I have heard that there are homebrew that can make the touch screen a joystick and the other buttons mapped out to a controller. Can someone point me to the direction of this homebrew or suggest something?

I havent heard of this. There's something for the PSP which works like that though.

I also read somewhere that the some DS flashcart with a Slot-2 USB attachment can make it work as a pc joystick

It doesn't exist, where would you plug it in to the N64?

It would be horrible to play with N64 games! Seriously, the touchscreen does not work for analogue control, Mario 64 DS & Rayman DS proved this.

If Nintendo can't get it to work with one of their key games I'm sure that this imaginary piece of homebrew won't either.

Not only that but the DS does not have enough buttons, you need:

d-pad: check
C-buttons: a,b,x,y could cover them
Start: Ok start would do
L/R - yep DS has those
A: ok maybe the select button
B: Nope ran out of buttons.

I used to use DS2Key or DSPad or whatever it was called, but it just wasn't reliable enough. The connection would randomly drop out leaving the game I'm playing to kill myself.... Very frustrating.

It's a good app, but I'd rather just use a normal controller for serious gaming.

I think he's talking about N64 emulation on PC, right?

Well this homebrew does exist... it's called DS2key if I remember correctly
there was a topic about it.. here it is: http://gbatemp.net/index.php?showtopic=64970

This is what I was hearing about but according to the post above mine it won't work ;_;

It seems I'll have to use an xbox360 controller.
