Hardware Using cheats for GBA games on EZ Flash 3 in 1

So for this, I just download the GBA Cheats.zip right? Where do I put it on my microSD? Also, do cheats work like how the CycloDS does by asking you if you want to enable cheats every time you want to start up a game? Also, do you have to patch them to use cheats? If so, with what?

Last time I checked (which admittedly was a while ago), cheats on the 3in1 only worked if you were using the slot-1 EZ-V cart. For other slot-1 carts you'd have to manually patch the cheat into the game with a program like GBASharky.
