What exactly does this imply?
I haven't used BootMii before..
Installs Bootmii as IOS254. It is used to boot into the homebrew channel and to make nand backups. It is only REALLY useful if you can install it as boot2 because then you have full brick protection.
bootmii is like system restore for windows, u can create a nand backup (ie. restore point) or restore a nand backup (ie. system restore)
bootmii as IOS only is not great protection by itself, but combining it with priiloader and some brains means u are really safe (unless u do something stupid like uninstall your system menu)
bootmii as boot2 is the ultimate in brick protection
a nand backup can be used to fix ANY wii (even if u couldn't install bootmii as boot2), even if ur wii is fully bricked, if u have a nand backup, some1 who knows what they're doing can flash your nand with the backup using an infectus chip
edit: don't listen to riley, he obviously doesn't know that bootmii as IOS is better than no bootmii at all (for all the reasons I listed above)
edit2: muahahahah, i beat u to it Mr. Foez Go Team Your Mom!
Btw, I mentioned to a friend of mine what our team name was, he suggested we change it to "Tag Team Your Mom" LMFAO!
What useful mini apps are there ??? havent seen many
Is it possible to restore a nand backup with BootMii as ios?
YES there is no difference between boot2 version and IOS version except that they are installed in different parts of the nand.
Its DANGEROUS but possible
If the restore is not finished properly for some reason (power fail, abort, etc)
only part of the nand is restored
expect crazy effects at best, no function more likely
you can retry with bootmii-boot2 since nothing required (boot1, bootmi-boot2) is ever overwritten (intentional design)
but with bootmii-ios the list is much longer and most of it is overwritten (iso, sysmenu, hbc,...)
most likely you will not be able to retry
so only use it as a last resort
Sneek/Uneek (using the dump bootmii makes)
lol, what so your saying we can do what we want with our wiis if we have bootmii as IOS..........................
you do a NAND backup then with just bootmii as IOS(no boot2)
deadlyFoez pretty must spelled it out lol
