Hacking Using a G6 can you trade pokemon to retail cart?

nod, an interesting solution. But do you think there's any way to transfer a G6 save (or any other format for that matter) of Pokemon Ruby, Sapphire, etc. onto its respective retail cart using a G6 slot-2 and/or an R4 slot-1? Cart_save seems like it would be the best solution for an M3, but are there other options? I've tried other things like Eepinator but with no luck.

How did you do that? My G6 wouldn't let me write to the legit Diamond game? I could rip the save, but not put one back on.

Just so you guys know. cart_save does a raw battery save dump of the information on the cart so if anyone wants to write back save data from lets say.... a gameshark sp sps file and the vba method isn't working then let me know and I will work at it for you. I've sort of reverse engineered the file format so that I can visually do the extraction. These battery save dumps can be imported into vba using the import battery save option or written back to a retail cart using cart_save.


EDIT: cart_save that I mention above is the same as the GBA Game Save Backup Utility mentioned below.

That is the problem with the G6, on my M3 it list the directory of files on M3, you then select a save and it tells you to swap out the G6 with the retail cart and press A.....on the G6 it locks up right after you hit the right shoulder pad.

Not so if you patch it.

I just confirmed that you CAN take a .0 file from a GBA rom you're using and copy it to a legit GBA cart!

Here's what to do:
1. You need the GBA Game Save Backup Utility (see the bottom of the page).
2. You need the DLDI patch. Get the G6 one if you're using G6.
3. You need the DLDI patching software(same page). I run WINXP so I got the WIN 32 one.
4. Unzip them and put them all in the same directory on your computer. Then get to the command prompt there (for WIN XP people: use Start, Run, then type "cmd")
5. Type dlditool g6fl.dldi cart_save.gba
6. Now your cart_save will work perfectly with your G6 allowing you to rip and paste GBA backups easily.

It is sweet. I got a save off of GameFAQs and it had all 386 Pokemon neatly arranged in boxes. I used Visualboy to open and save it to the Sapphire ROM. Then I uploaded that to my real Sapphire cart and now I can trade over ANY of the Pokemon from the first 3 generations. Unfortunately this only amounts to 6 a day, but that will be enough to keep me interested in my quest for all 490. I'm up over 300 now, and finding/breeding/trading probably about 10 per day. With the added 6 a day I can now get, I'll be done by July.

What was the point of the visualboy step? Was that because gamefaqs only hosts gameshark snapshots?

So now that you can trade are you doing that between a legit diamond/pearl and your legit sapphire carts or is the G6 still in there somewhere?

Exactly!

I'm trading between my legit Diamond and Diamond on the G6. I copy my legit file to the G6, then trade over certain monsters I need for breeding or that need to be traded to evolve. Also, it allows me to get some great trade bait for Wi-Fi. I am offering real Pokemon on Wi-Fi, just extra copies of ones I've raised.

It locks up... sometimes... on my M3 Perfect Lite. Not everytime. Don't know why but if I try again then it works fine. It does it's job fine as long as you get past that file listing. This happens regardless of if I am doing a read or write operation. It locks up right before the file listing.
