    Howdie,

I just purchased the Opera expansion pack thinking that was the only way to use the browser. Ive since now discovered you can use the EZ 3in1, but thats another story.

After seeing the video on Youtube showing how to use the Slot 2 device, I wondered if I could do the same with the offical expansion pack?

I tried using Rudolphs loader but it doesnt work (worth a try!) but I figured I'd ask if this is possible - if so that would be very cool.

    Thanks [IMG]

Sorry mate, the Opera RAM Expansion can only allow you to:
    1) Use the Opera Web Browser (Commercial Cart)
    2) Use the Opera Web Browser ROM (Run the ROM from a Slot 1 with the RAM Expansion in Slot 2)

Other than that, it does nothing.

    EDIT: Grammar
EDIT 2: Correct me if I'm wrong

Yeah that sucks - i could purchased a slot 2 instead and used the rom+opera patch.

Seeing how it has 10mb RAM I was so hoping a hack could be made for it function just like a temp. GBA cart, of course loosing power would erase the memory but it wouldn't care

Uhmm, the opera browser has no SRAM (you know, the place games save to?) and it's memory is offset to a funky location so most GBA things would not run from it anyway (not without some major work on patchers and such at any rate). About the only thing I can think of that it could be made useful for is as a RAM expansion for DS homebrew run from the DS slot or wireless multiboot.

E has, U hasent, just search G-Online for Browser

An added bonus to getting a RAM cart is that it could be used to provide extra ram (increasing speed) in some emulators (i think the latest update to the first genesis emulator supports it)

but any slot2 that can function as a RAM cart can do this too

Technically U has been dumped. The U rom is EXACTLY the same as the E rom, so it just seems like it hasn't been dumped. And if someone does end up dumping it, it will be nuked because like I said, it's EXACTLY the same.

Instead of getting the EZ 3in1, Im just going to get a Opera Browser because you can pick it up at a store.
And you gotta support Nintendo somehow. Everyone is downloading roms, even the web browser >_>
