I transferred a TU using horizon in my external HDD (where my fsd and my games are). When i access USBMU on file manager of FSD, there are two content folders and the only game id there is the TU i transferred. All the other folders are gone.

Also, how do you access USBMU using a PC anyway? I can only see it on the filemanager of FSD.

Edit: GREAT! Turns out all the data on the USBMU is gone cause when i run GTAV, its not working cause it got deleted on the Content folder! God I hate Alien Isolation this game is the worst game to install.

Humm, you know that you can hook it up to a network cable and download TU's from FSD? ;p

Aye, sweet it worked out for yerself.

Yes I know that but the tu was big so i transferred it using horizon. But its my first time doing it on my external hdd. So horizon probably messed up the USBMU of the HDD.

Anyway, someone told me to try Party buffalo for Windows so I can see the USBMU of the hdd. Its there! The deleted folders are there. BUT the tu is not there.

But in fsd, the usbmu has TWO content folders. One is "Content" and another is "content" with a small C. Both containing the cursed TU i transferred.

If its not possible to get it back to normal, how do you reset the USBMU to empty? Or format it? I cant just format the HDD without formating the WHOLE drive right?

Thank you!

Just delete the Xbox360 folder and the USBMU will be gone.
Then you can redo it.

Thats the issue. Im concerned about the whole drive being formatted. Cause my games and fsd are all there. I could backup it but its too big.
I checked the capacity of the memory unit of my HDD and it only says 20gb which should be 400gb. Does that mean its only the USBMU and not the whole drive?

360's can't see more then 32 GB as external memory.

Question: why don't you pop in a internal HDD?
Their quicker and easier.

I dont have an xbox internal hdd. Im fine with the external hdd.

So.. do i just remove the storage and will it ONLY remove USBMU?

Or can i just not delete it and settle with the current structure of my USBMU?
But on party buffallo, it still has the old data though.

Have you got a Slim or phatty?
Slims can take any sized 2.5 inch without an enclosure.

Yes.
It'll ONLY remove the USBMU storage.
The rest of the drive remains untouched.

Then the TU is prolly corrupted.
You could remove it with Party buffalo driver or USBXTAF.

Ok great. Just to double check. Its settings>storage>memory unit (the hdd)>remove 360 storage?
lol i dont wanna lose my 400gb+ games!

2.5 inch drives are laptop harddisks, you can insert them in the slim without the caddy just fine ;]

Yes.
After you deleted it, you'll have to make a new USBMU.
As it deletes it off the HDD.

Ok i removed it now. I cant find FSD now on the guide. How do I reinsert the HDD again so i can access FSD and check if my games are still there (which im praying are still there)?

Do I "configure now" the hdd drive on the storage menu? Isnt that gonna reformat it? My heart is racing right now im not kidding.

Did you have FSD installed in the USBMU?
Then you'll need to set up FSD again.

Yer games are still there.

No, customize.
Then you can set yer own size for the USBMU.

No FSD is on the partition where the games are. I can see FSD on windows.

Oh customize! Does it matter how much size I set? What do you think should be the size for me? I want it to be the same size before. Is it 20gb cause the one i saw before, the capacity was 20gb?

Ah good, then you should be able to boot into FSD again.

I personally prefer internal HDD's cause of speed (SATA vs USB) and ease.
Not to mention constant swapping of USBs etc wears the USB ports and could lead to HDD corruption.

I say 1 or 2 GB.
All you store on it is saves innit?

Why 1-2gb? Thats not gonna be enough when you install multi-disc games. USBMU is where you put mandatory files IIRC. Like GTAV. the disc1 is 4+gb. So should be around 10gb?

That's also one of the reasons why internal HDD's are preffered.
Loading times are slower over USB as well.
You could set the size to 20 GB if you like.

Ok i set it up to 20gb.

I reboot the xbox and my heart almost sank when it was booting but when i saw the FSD logo, i was happy AND the games are still there!

Thank you!

But now the USBMU is empty. Where is the content folder?

Aye aye.
USBMU is gone, you'll need to refill it again with saves etc.

Hmm.. Well I just want to transfer the GTA V installation files there. And i probably wont install Alien for now cause that damn game caused me this whole problem.

Also, can I use PC to install multi-disc games? Cause FSD file manager transfer is kinda slow. Will party buffallo work? Or maybe just stick with fsd to avoid this problem again?
