I have a Wii U that I modded a number of years ago and has been running 100% perfectly until today. I disconnected the cables to move it off my tv stand to clean the TV stand. The Wii U has 2 separate hard drives, only one connected at a time using a USB3 to Y-style USB cable: One with Wii and Gamecube games and the other with Wii-U games. After hooking it back up with the Wii/Gamecube drive, I verified that the gamecube games are still working. I launched a Wii game like I normally do through USB Loader GX with the wii remote, but then realized the sensor bar was not connected when it wouldn't respond to the wii remote. I plugged in the sensor bar to see if this would help. But forgot that the wii u was still turned on. Now anytime any wii game is launched, it kicks back after about 20 seconds from the USB Loader to the vWii channel menu. I used my phone camera to see if the sensors on the sensor bar turn on and they do. Everything is working fine, except the wii games. Gamecube games are also launched from the USB Loader GX screen.

I'm not sure if the sensor bar is messed up or the software or what might be wrong here. Any help would be appreciated.

I'm sure it has to be. When I hooked it back up, a wii game was launched but because the sensor bar wasn't plugged in, thus wouldn't respond to any input from a wii remote. The GameCube games all launched just fine then and still now. It's just that now when launching the wii games alone now, it doesn't actually launch one, it kicks out of the USB loader app and back to the wii channel guide instead.

Is the Wii games box checked? (4th icon at the top of GX)

can you post a syscheck report of your hack, please.

what version of GX are you using?

How do I do a syscheck report and how do I tell what version of GX I'm using? This system was modded a few years ago so it's probably using older software.

That you used the cIOS beta53 and it worked, was a bunch full of luck.
Your drive is not correctly recognized, its dying, or the files may corrupted.

If u unpluged (or lost connection) the drive with your wii/gc games, while vWii was turned on and in USB Loader GX. The partition with the partitioninfo of the drive may gone corrupted.
Run this checkups, including Testdisk to restore the MBR: https://gbatemp.net/threads/usb-loader-gx-troubleshooting-guide.617564/#fscheck

Check this to set the correct cIOS:
Standard vWii cIOS setup

And this:
USBLGX game start return to sysmenu

As additional info. Latest version of USBLGX is 1281

I'm currently doing a checkdisk scan on the HDD. But when I looked for the TestDisk download, I get an internal error page and the download is not available.

So, since I'm going to need to update the USBLGX version and also change the cIOS.. what's the best way to go about doing these changes? I know my wiiU is prompting for updates constantly but I have it blocked from the internet. Any advice would be appreciated.

I ran the checkdisk on that hard drive and it came up completely clean without any errors. Any advice on how to move forward would be much appreciated.

I've followed all the suggestions but everything is till the same. Also, for clarification. The hard drive was not unplugged while the system was on. The sensor bar was plugged in while the console was turned on and was in the vWii inside the USB Loader GX. and now only GameCube games work. Wii games only, when launched, stall on a black screen for about 10 seconds then it goes back to the wii channel screen.
