I have been fooling around with USBLoader Gx for a while now and decided to update my drive to a more decent one, I was using a USB flash drive, but after plugging the hdd in and loading up USBLoader it is able to properly identify it, tell me stuff about it, but it shows no games, what can I do to fix this?
P.D.: New drive is Fat32 format, and the old one was able to work thanks to a specific format designed for flash drives to work in USBLoader.

Is the new drive a flash drive as well? Try formatting it as wbfs using wii backup manager instead of fat32. You will forgo many of the benefits of fat32, but it has improved compatibility, especially with flash drives

Also please post a syscheck
https://gbatemp.net/threads/posting-a-system-check.300279/

Older cios's only supported wbfs and not fat32, so depending on how old your mods are that may be the culprit

Ok! I am going to run the syscheck, but in the meanwhile, the new drive is a hdd with 250Gb capacity, I don't know if wbfs works the same way with it

The 2nd file is the one we want, but it's missing information

Cios's look fine, most likely it's a hdd compatibility issue. U can try formatting as wbfs as it does improve compatibility, but there's no guarantee it will work with your specific hdd.

Make sure you're plugging it into USB port 0, the one nearest the edge of the console.

You can also adjust the meta.xml load settings to try alternate cios's, like 250, 222,etc

Ok, first, it is effectively loading as normal, it just isn't SHOWING the games, but it is able to recognize the hdd and even recognize some information about it, like format, storage, etc. Second, what do you mean by: meta.xml load settings. Third, I am definitely NOT a connoisseur of this kind of stuff, I am basically new, so please be a bit more specific.

Go inside the apps/usbloader_gx folder, and there you'll find a meta.xml. Open this in notepad, there should be some kind of ios argument set to 249 or 58 or something, change this to 250, 222,223, 224,251,etc until you hopefully get lucky. You'll have to delete the comment lines above and below as appropriate. Notepad++ makes it easier to detect comment tags, but it's not very difficult even without

Ok, first, I will answer your questions, yes and yes. Second, I have good news and bad news. the good news is that I formatted it to wbfs and it now works!!! Bad news, by doing this I encountered a problem I intended to solve by changing drives, every time I try to load games that are over 1Gb, it just black screens

Try changing the game specific settings to use a dif IOS. I've never heard of a bug that consistently impacts games larger than 1gb.

Are you running the latest version of gx from @blackb0x 's signature?
I mean, I think??? I am going to try the cIOS thing, but first, 2 questions. Are there especific IOS's that you recommend I try? and second, where can I find the latest version of the loader???
P.S.: I am not 100% sure if the size thing is the reason behind it, I just know that out of the multiple games I have tried, those over the 1gb "mark" don't work

Ok, update. it seems I just didn't try enough things to get a concrete theory, I just tested a few things.
1. Updating USBLoader, it helped?
2. formatting the hard drive into Fat32, NOTHING liked it, neither homebrew (it didn't properly load) nor USBLoader (it froze on: "reinitializing Devices"
3. I tried a new game (The Legend of Zelda, Twilight Princess) and it worked! Meaning, that the 1Gb "mark" ISN'T the issue.
Ok, so basically, I am going to try another game to 100% disregard the 1Gb theory, but the game that is currently giving me issues is Super Mario Galaxy 2, I have read that this game has a few issues, any idea on where to start?
