USBloader GX works with hdd but not flash drive

I have a hacked launch model wii with usbloader gx and whenever i try loading games from my flash drive it gets stuck on a black screen. i tried the same game on a hdd in a usb dock and it worked with no issues but i can’t really lug around a hard drive and dock with me to play some mario kart with my friends. the flash drive is a 256gb sandisk extreme pro dual usb that i’ve formatted in NTFS, FAT32, WBFS and i know it doesn’t work but it was worth a shot exFAT. also tried changing allocation sizes default 32k and 64k but that didn’t work. even tried making a single 32gb partition on the drive with mbr and gpt and still nothing. cIOS is installed properly according to wii.hacks.guide and i’m out of options here. any help is appreciated

Have u tried Wiiflow or cfg usb loader?

GX too doesn't recognize my usb flash drive, I'm waiting for its next update which promises improvements in this area (I personally tested a beta that got it working with my 128 PNY Usb3.0 flash drive). That being said, iirc, my issue was a bit different in that it wasn't even listing games

i tried wiiflow too and they both work with every of flash drive i tried but they’re too small to store games i actually play. the sandisk drive shows games and shows the banner but opening a game makes it freeze

Probably not a loader issue then.

U could try other cios's, while they may have other issues they may have varying degrees of compatibility with other drives. D2x v10 beta 53 alt, hermes 222,223 and 224 for example are one's I'd try first, with various different bases. It would be tedious, and trial and error, and no guarantees it would even work, but you could try that. Easiest/fastest way to do it is download cios's from Modmii's download page 4, then optionally change to slot (by opening the wad using modmii or other tools like showmiiwads) to something like 247, 246, working your way down so that u can install many simultaneously to different slots for testing purposes (and probably want to carefully uninstall any excess when you're done) - or change the slot during the actual download process using modmii's advanced downloads page (but this is probably a slower method tbh). You can switch the version of d2x cios modmii will build in its options

i understood none of that but i’ll give it a try
