I was thinking that it would be nice to play some Monster Hunter Tri for a long time. Then USB Loader GX said it doesn't find any USB devices. I tried other loaders as well, still no luck. Then I tried put my iPhone one of USB ports to see if they are even working. I noticed that USB ports stops working as soon as I'm in Homebrew Channel. My iPhone will charge in system menu and stuff, but after Homebrew Channel, nothing. Same thing for both ports.

I've Hermes cIOS and cIOS249[57]-v20 installed to my system if those will help. There was no any problems before.

Try the other USB port? My HDD only works in one of the ports and not the other, pretty sure there's a quick fix for that like updating the loader but I've never bothered, if I put it in the wrong one I just swap it back over.

I might be helpful if you pasted a sysCheck.

Either way, it sounds to me like you have some out-of-date IOS files. I recommend you use ModMii to update/reinstall your IOS files, including 249d2x56 and 250d2x57 (version 6). I also recommend you use the latest version of Configurable USB Loader.

Looks like sysCheck thing is stuck with ios9 tests for a while now. Is it safe to reset during that and try again? I used syscheckb11 and put it to test all IOS's.

Yes, it is okay to reset and try again.

IIRC, certain versions of 4, 9, 10 and 11 always cause syscheck to hang. the most current versions of 4, 11 and 12 are stubs. the only work around i've found is to delete those, run syscheck, then reinstall IOS9....

you could also try updating those IOSes to most current...then trying syscheck to see if that solves your problem.

It's normal for nothing to happen when you connect an iphone/ipod to HBC - HBC will only use mass storage devices (which the iphone/ipods are not) and under IOS58 all USB devices are in "suspended" mode by default.

As I said before, you should use ModMii to reinstall/update all of your IOS files. I'm noticing that some of your IOS files are unnecessarily patched and some are out-of-date. I suggest you use the ModMii Wizard to install System Menu 4.1E and all of the latest IOS files. If you do install 4.1, you will have to reinstall Priiloader and its hacks if you already have them. Again, you should also use ModMii to install 249d2x56 and 250d2x57 (version 6).

External USB hard drive as always.

This is getting more annoing than Monster Hunters loading times with the disk... It was working just right when I was using my Wii last time. I haven't installed or removed anything before those system menu 4.1 and IOS upgrade.

Do you know if it is compatible? If you don't, see if it is on here.

I've been using it for YEARS with my Wii, so yeah, it's compatible. USB ports just started acting up yesterday and Wii doesn't recognize any USB devices after Homebrew Channel and THAT'S the problem here.

You sure the ports arent busted?
    (Useing bus powered hdd?)

Try other USB stuff not involving Homebrew or cIOS
eg Keyboard in different sysmenu parts
Rockband instruments or some of the various mics (on retail + diskchan)

if that does not work anymore too your ports are probably fried
    (no testing 5volt does suffice)

USB ports are working in system menu and in the game when I play them with a disc and USB keyboard too in Internet Channel. They just stop responding every time I go to Homebrew Channel.

I guess you already tried multiple devices? (if not, do)

If yes the only remaining culprits are the one ios hbc uses and hbc itself.
Try reinstalling in that order: a clean IOS58 and HBC

everything else like all other installed ios, sysmenu, channels, homebrew should not matter

As I already explained: when HBC is running under IOS58 it is completely normal for unused USB devices (anything that isn't a mass storage device) to stay dormant and powered off.

I assumed he is talking about mass storage.
    Or am I wrong here?

I was referring to "Wii doesn't recognize any USB devices after Homebrew Channel and THAT'S the problem here." and you suggesting that he should test multiple devices.
