I've recently installed homebrew and some apps on my wii like usb loader gx and wiiflow and they both crash upon opening a game. I've followed the routine with wiibackup manager with different downloads of the same game and nothing happens. I'm trying to run it from a hdd connected by a usb 3 cable and it comes up on the menu and it all show up fine. I've followed many tutorials on youtube and asked some individuals to help me out but nothing seems to work for me.
This is my syscheck result :

Hello.:)

Thats is sad to hear of your Issues but maybe we can help you.:)

The first good news: Your sysCheck is ok.:yaywii:

Please be so kind and check the following:

- USBLoader GX Version (it should be v3.0 r1272)
- WiiFlow (it should be v5.2.0)

- What Kind/Type is your USB Device please ? I see in your Post you use an HDD.
Recommended is the HDD formatted with FAT32.
USB Sticks/Flash Drives/Pen Drives are known as not 100 percent reliable and maybe not working correctly.

- Your USB Device is plugged in the correct Port 0:

728px-Wii-USB-port.jpg

- Your Games are transferred with the WiiBackupManager from the PC to your USB Device.

Please be so kind and check all of this Points.:)

Good Luck.
Thank you.:)

Hey sorry for a late response and thank you a lot for your help. I’ve checked everything of what you’ve said above the versions the port ect, ect..
The only thing is that I do know that FAT32 is recommended for these kind of things but at the moment I have it as NTFS. Could this be the root of my issue?

Hello.:)

I am sorry for you that nothing helps to get rid of your Issue...:(

No,I do not think so.The ony real "disadvantage" of NTFS is that you can not use Gamecube/Wii Games on the same HDD.Gamecube/Nintendont needs FAT32 to work.

Could you be so kind and tell us which specific Game(s) crashes ? Maybe they need some "adjustement" in the In Game Settings.:)

Thank you.:)

I’ve only tried Super Mario Bros to be honest. Would you recommend me to switch to FAT32? Could that maybe change something?

If it is not to much effort for you (you said you have only tried only one Game) yes please.
Format your HDD and please use the WiiBackupManager for the Game/ISO Transfer.

Good Luck
Thank you.:)

Just saying I have tried different versions. The files if I’m correct are like 400mb and are transferred via Wii Backup Manager to be turned into WBFS. I’ve seen other versions talking about mounting parts and stuff but I don’t understand those. If you could confirm this for me now I’d appreciate it and I can try again tomorrow. Thanks

The NTSC Version SMNE01 has 350MB in WiiBackupManager (please also refer to the MD5 Hash):

The PAL Version SMNP01 has 358 MB:

Okay so I've just tried again. I've partitioned one part of my drive to FAT32 and the other to NTFS but regardless it comes up and it doesn't work. Is there anything else I could do? For the moment I'm going to try another game and figure out if it's an issue with the file.

Hello.:)

Thank you for your Reply.

I have tried PAL and NTSC Version on NTFS HDD and FAT32 USB Stick, both work on Global Settings in USBLoader GX.
In WiiFlow v.5.2.0 on Standard Settings.
In Configurable USB Loader v70 r78.11 (it uses IOS 247 on the startup)

And yes please, try other too Games.
Thank you.:)

Maybe you can also try this:

As I see you have a PAL Wii,you maybe set the Video mode to match that of your Game.

In Game Settings -> Game Load please change the "Video mode : Disc default".
Now it will always set the console to the same region than your Game you are playing.
You can also try the "force NTSC 480p" Option if your Game is NTSC.
Maybe this helps you.

Good Luck
Thank you.:)

Thanks! I've partitioned my hdd for an FAT32 partition and an NTFS partition. I saw there were multiple settings on it and I went on sync FAT32 something...? I can't recall. And I turned on also a setting about multi partitions and the other version of the game came up. I assume that's good right? Also to mention it was Super Mario Bros Wii PAL and it still didn't work. If I've done anything wrong could you tell me? I don't know what I can do anymore. Thanks.

You do not need the NTFS Partition really for USBLoader GX/Wii/Gamecube Games.Use only the FAT32 and all is good.:)
I only have my NTFS HDD at the moment, because it needs a little Time to Convert it.There are many Games on it bigger than 4 GB.....

Two or more Partitions make sense when you have a HDD bigger than 2 TB.
One thing please to check before you proceed: please be sure your HDD is recognized as MBR and not as GPT Drive in Windows.

For the Hard Drive Settings:

The Setting "Sync FAT32 FS Info" can be confirmed with YES.

Oh no...I am sorry....:(

But maybe it is my Fault,I overlooked something on your sysCheck:

Your cIOSes:
IOS249[56] (rev 65535 Info: d2x-v10beta52): Trucha Bug NAND Access USB 2.0
IOS250[57] (rev 65535 Info: d2x-v10beta52): Trucha Bug NAND Access USB 2.0

Can you please use the d2x cIOS installer and correct your install to the following:
(you can use ModMii to get the Installer)

IOS249[56] (rev 21 Info: d2x-v10beta52): Trucha Bug NAND Access USB 2.0
IOS250[57] (rev 21 Info: d2x-v10beta52): Trucha Bug NAND Access USB 2.0

Your Wii needs Internet Access to maybe re-download the cIOSes again.
Please forgive me this "misstep" from me,I am sorry for that.:(

Thank you.:)
