Hacking USB loaders crashing upon booting a game

so,,,,,,,, I tried to do it? and I got put in a "channel" menu and I have no clue how to get out of it. It accidentally booted up when I tried to open usb loader gx without the hdd plugged in. How do I fix this? or should I try wiiflow

This is no problem and very simple to solve.

Boot up the USBLoader GX with your USB Device attached.

Then please look in the USBLoader Gx Main Screen for the ICON "Select loader Mode" on the upper Screen:



Click on it and check Wii Games and GC Games please.



Click on OK and thats it.

Hey! I'm sorry I stopped replying for a while some things came up. I've tried and this doesn't seem to work. Did you say that regions did not matter? I'm going to try and download another game to try right now

You can use US,PAL and JAP Games on the USBLoader GX.

Hey! I tried replying yesterday but the site was down. I've gotten super smash brawl NTSC and it doesn't seem to work either. I tried your method of changing the game ios to 247 and forcing it into NTSC but regardless doesn't work. Is there anything else I can do?

Yes yesterday was not so good to answer or post something.

For unterstanding:

I suggested IOS 247 to you because that one is used from the Configurable USBLoader for New Super Mario Bros.
For the Game Super smash Brawl NTSC you have choose a "tricky" one because it is a Game bigger than 4.7 GB and the "Game Versions" from the Internet are most Corrupt or did not work correct (because in most of the Cases WiiBackupManager did not copy the WHOLE Game on the USB Device).

You can check the Size(s):
\wbfs\Super Smash Bros. Brawl [RSBE01]/RSBP01.wbfs (2GB)
\wbfs\Super Smash Bros. Brawl [RSBE01]/RSBP01.wbf1 (2GB)
\wbfs\Super Smash Bros. Brawl [RSBP01]/RSBP01.wbf2 (2GB)
\wbfs\Super Smash Bros. Brawl [RSBP01]/RSBP01.wbf3 (1GB)

Or is it an original Game DVD ?

Please look at it and if it is possible try better an other Game.

For example Mario Kart Wii.It needs no change of the Game Settings and should run.

Maybe I see your "real" Issue - it is maybe the Game(s) itself.
I can not give you Links or "Suggestions" from where you get "working Games"
That is against GBAtemp Rules and brings only Troubles....


You can use an "Calculator" for the MD5 Hashes (it is a Checksum of the correct Size from a File).

WiiBackupManager has some integrated:



And then you can compare it on GameTDB:

or you can use a Tool like GUI File Signature Widget to verifiy the correct MD5:

Drag and Drop your Game ISO on this open Window of the Tool.



and after finish you can also compare it.

I have tried the Game (Size it about 6 GB) and it needs a IOS with Base 37 like:

IOS223[37] (rev 65535, Info: hermesrodries-v6): Trucha Bug, NAND Zugriff, USB 2.0
IOS224[37] (rev 65535, Info: hermes-v5.1): Trucha Bug, NAND Zugriff, USB 2.0
IOS245[37] (rev 21008, Info: d2x-v8final): Trucha Bug, NAND Zugriff, USB 2.0

That means for you to change the Game IOS to 245 according to your last sysCheck:

IOS245[37] (rev 21008 Info: d2x-v8final): Trucha Bug NAND Access USB 2.0

That should now work for Super Smash Bros. Brawl NTSC Version.

Don't rely on the MD5 check from Wiibackupmanager. It is created when you first transfer an iso and it will be bad if the iso is bad to begin with.

Directly from http://www.wiibackupmanager.co.uk/home.html
"An MD5 Hash is calculated and stored in each disc transferred to a drive, so it's possible to verify the data integrity at a later date. The hash isn't calculated for ISO yet."

Use Sha-1 verify instead.
