Hacking USB Loader....

I am looking to begin using a HDD and currently have NeoGamma. From what I have seen, there are lots of different USB loaders to choose from, but I was thinking of going with the Configurable USB Loader. My question is two-fold:

1. Can I launch the USB Loader through NeoGamma r7?

2. Is there a way to put NeoGamma as a channel or do I have to get a forwarder channel?

PS - What is the difference between a forwarder channel and a regular channel??

1. Neogamma IS an USB Launcher (aside from it's other features).

2. Yes, you can create a channel of it.

To answer your PS...

The difference between a channel wad and a forwarder channel is this.

Forwarders use less space on the NAND.
They can look identical.
Channels wads don't always require an SD or USB, a forwarder does.
A channel wad in some cases cant alter settings and save them.
A forwarder can also allow you to boot the dol from HBC. (channels are harder to boot from HBC)
Some forwarders use the same memory as an app so will give errors at times.


There are some other differences, but these are the most common ones.

There are MANY forwarders so a search is best.

Some support SDHC, some don't. Some allow booting from only SD, or some allow SD or USB and some even try both paths.
If you install devkit then they are quite easy to change the source and recompile to suit your own personal needs, if this sounds daunting just find one others have used.

your better off to use a forwarder otherwise when a new version of the loader comes out you need to find the new channel and install it ALL over again. forwarders you don't install it once and leave it there.
