it should work fine with d2x v8 (or r52). you don't need r53.
it's needed only if you plug the drive on port1, which shouldn't be required here.
I didn't have enough report on Wii, I got only from vwii, so take it as possible mistake but :
- the HDD partition format has no incidence on the NFC accessory. you can keep WBFS, this is not the problem here. changing to FAT32 is for another time.
- use d2x v8 or d2x r52
- hdd on port 0
- Portal on Port 1 (top on Wii, back-bottom on vWii)
- do not enable multi port in the loader. it's useless if you don't use multi HDD, or hdd on port1. also useless if you don't use d2x r53
- plug the accessorie(s) before launching the game, as v8 or r52 doesn't have plug&play support.
- d2x BASE 56 <---- VERY IMPORTANT. Do not use base57 for that game, or the NFC accessory will not work.
base57 is working for 99% of games, and for this reason, we (mainly me?) decided to change all guides and install that base in slot249.
only one game require base56 (spyro), and therefore for this game you need to edit the game's individual settings to use slot250 (IF and only IF this is the slot where your base 56 is located).
if you installed base56 in slot 249, then do not change the game settings, as it should already use slot249 by default. (just verify your slots, base, and game's settings IOS slot)
And that's maybe one common mistake new users are making : installing ALL three cIOS in the three common slot is NOT enough and not a miracle.
you need to actually activate one of the three on a per-game basis !
only ONE is active at a time, and therefore you need to choose which one. having a cIOS installed, but not actually using it is completely useless.
That's only from reports I've read, I didn't test the game myself.
