Hey I'm relatively new to homebrwwing or soft modding on the Wii, I helped a friend a couple years back but thats all.
Yesterday I downloaded USB Loader GX to try get some games from vimms lair (I saved the games as USB/wbfs/GAMENAME [GAME ID]/GAME ID.wbfs if that helps but I'm pretty sure it's saved right).
When I load up USB Loader GX the games show up so I download the images to get the box cover but when I click on the games it shows settings and start but above that it just shows a black screen although I didn't think much of it at first when I decided to start the game the screen went black and brought me back to the homebrew channel.
I've looked around on these forums and on YouTube where I see people with the same issue as me so I try some of the fixes that are shown but nothing has seemed to work so I've came here as a last resort.
Hopefully you guys are able to help me. Thanks I really appreciate the time you have taken to even read all this.

And FAT32, and plugged into USB port 0 (the one nearest the edge)
Sorry for the late reply, I just checked and it is indeed formatted as mbr and FAT32, and plugged into USB port 0. I spent another small bit looking around on forums again today and I'm still not sure as to whats wrong.

What kind of HDD are u using? Try using ios 250 or 251
I'm using a SP Touch T06 32GB USB 2.0 Flash Drive and when you say "try using ios 250 or 251" do you mean using that as the loader ios on usbloader gx or somewhere else, I could be acting quite dumb about this but I'm a bit confused sorry.

Flash drives generally have poor compatibility. If u can try a normal USB hard drive you'd likely to have better results. If u desperately want to get this usb flash drive working, u can try formatting it as wbfs instead of fat32 (and saving usbloader app files to your fat32 sd card), doing this has better compatibility with flash drives.

In my last post I meant for the loader, but I would try reformatting at wbfs first. If u eventually get games to list properly, but then have a problem launching a game, that's when you would try setting a different game ios

Hey, I hope all is well I'm sorry for the late reply again but at the moment I don't have a normal USB hard drive and can't get one for a week or two so I'll have to try formatting the USB I have to wbfs. I'm not to sure on where or how I'd format it to wbfs so if there's any chance you could let me know I'd really appreciate that, if then it still doesn't work I will indeed get a hard drive after the couple weeks. Is there a reason flash drives don't have as much compatibility? it's not really a necessary question but it's just kind of intriguing to me.

Yeah I had a feeling you meant the loader but yeah I'll try that once I format it to wbfs. Thanks for taking the time to help me with all this though.

Try Wii Backup Manager (Tools --> Format Drives)

There's no real reason why compatibility is low for flash drives, just a result that has been experienced. It could in theory be improved upon, but it hasn't, so users have to use larger HDDs or try formatting as wbfs.

You could also try various other cIOSs to see if one has better compatibility with your flash drive when formatted as fat32, but then you would forgo the benefits of the latest and greatest. Also I don't recall when FAT32 support was introduced... iirc it was Wanin's rev 19? Hermes latest cIOSs also support fat32, as do all versions of d2x. So for example, Wanin's rev 14 cIOS does not have FAT32 support built into it, so it for sure wouldn't work.

Okay again I'm extremely sorry for the late replies stuff just came up and I wasn't able to use my phone or laptop much so I haven't been able to format as wbfs yet either but I should be able to in the next couple of hours and I'll get back to you then.

I will most likely try different cIOSs afterwards if formatting my usb as wbfs doesn't work

I've also zipped\attached the guide ModMii generates for you to follow.

I do NOT advise that you use pimp my Wii.

But now doesn't go to the HBC when try to run one of them, now i just get a black screen.
What is failing to load the homebrew channel? What I was saying earlier is that if you are running a very old homebrew app (e.g. preloader), and from within the app you choose to load the homebrew channel, it will fail to load the HBC as it is looking for an older title id that isn't being used anymore. You would need to update preloader to priiloader v0.9.1 in order for priiloader to be able to launch the HBC. This is just an example, and in this example following your ModMii guide will resolve this issue; however, if you have an older app that gives problems you would need to update this on a case by case basis, or live with it.

Your HBC does need to be updated, but that's addressed in the syscheck updater wizard\guide

edit: after successfully updating your softmods, if you generate a new syscheck, and drag and drop it onto modmii.exe, it should tell you your softmods are up to date. If it doesn't, then you didn't follow the guide correctly/completely.

Please confirm you can get WBFS wii games working correctly before trying to trouble shoot anything emunand related. The issue could very well be with the emunand, but we should make sure everything else is working first and save emunands\neek for last.

Yeah, i did the same with my syscheck, dropped again on modmii and generated the same that you said. Followed the steps of the guide: installed all the wads, used prilloader 0.9.1, updated HBC and bootmii, made the backupt, etc BUT for some reason it doesn't seem to work.

I generated another syscheck after the second update, here it is:

Something changed, at least my system menu is now 4.1E.

About WBFS wii games working from USB... Thats a right question, they doesn't work. With USB loader gx i tried some games i gives me the same error that gives me Wiiware games running from original Wii NAND:

An error has occurred.
Press the EJECT button, eject the disc and
turn off the console. Consult the manual
Wii console instructions for
get more information

My DVD unit is failure in some way, cant run the games on disc. i receive the same message that put above. i get the same message from Mighty Channels trying to run Wiiware games from emunand created with usb loader gx. Also tried the new wad2bin method but also didn't work, this time because of sd compatibiliy i guess.

Lets see if we can solve the problem, but i think that wont be able to run wiiware games by any method. :(

There are lots of changes to your syscheck now, not just 4.1E, looks good.

If u have some kind of hardware failure u can try booting into neek, it may or may not work for u though. Otherwise hardware repairs aren't often worthwhile these days, easier to just buy another used console.
