Hopefully this is a simple noob question. I followed this guide to install the USBLoader GX.
    http://www.mikeandheth.com/games/97-connec...hard-drive.html

Everything seemed to go fine till I got to the very bottom. When I try to install a game from a disc I have I get an error "Could not open disc".

What does this mean and how can I fix it? I can't find anything on it.

I have small kids so I really need backups!

    Thanks

Well I didn't think to check before but now my Wii is not loading Wii discs normally either (runs GC fine). It says something about unable to load disc check manual for troubleshooting.

I am not convinced that this is do to me messing with the software since I did not think to try it before hand. Im running to the store to pick up a lens cleaner no.

I follow the guide above exactly. Yes at one point it had me install:

    Step 1: Install cIOS

CURRENTLY RECOMMENDED VERSION OF cIOS: cIOS38_rev14

note: I did make a bakup first so if I need to I should be able to roll back.

thats cIOS(GOOD) not CIOSCORP(CRAP), CIOSCORP causes more problems than it solves

i recommend you use a guide on here to install HBC from scratch that wasy you should have no problems, if that still doesnt solve the disk issues then you might have a faulty DVD drive

I have not heard of it so I don't think so. Is there a way I can check if it is on my system.

Well I was able to locate a soft copy of a game and it loads fine so I guess it is a drive problem.

Timing sucks because I really did not want to mess with d/ls just back up the games I have but at least it is working at all.
